5 Easy and Effective Home Remedies to Cure Nail Fungus

 


The nail is one of the toughest substances in our body, which acts as a shield to the fingertip of the hand or leg. So, we must take proper care of the nails of our fingers and toes. 1. Application of garlic juice and vinegar

Hence, when a few cloves of garlic are crushed to make a paste and mixed with a little amount of white vinegar, this mixture makes a wonderful remedy for nail fungus, if applied directly on the infected nails regularly. The daily consumption of raw garlic with water is also a good option for preventing fungal attacks.


2. Soaking of nails in diluted apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known for its highly acidic nature, which has proved to be effective in killing the fungi and thus stopping their growth on the infected nails. Therefore some amount of apple cider vinegar should be mixed with the same amount of normal water, and then the fungi-infected nails have to be soaked in this liquid for a minimum 30 minutes per day to obtain the best result.

 

3. Commonly used mouth-wash in diluted stage

The usual mouth-wash daily used at home is known to have antiseptic and antifungal properties, which kills the bacteria of the mouth. Hence this same quality can be used in the treatment of nail fungus too, by dipping the affected nails in a small amount of mouth-wash for at least 15 minutes regularly. 

 

4. Rubbing Vicks VapoRub over the affected nails

Vicks VapoRub is the most popular decongestant which is usually rubbed on the chest to cure the common cold, but this same ointment can provide great results in destroying fungi when applied over the infected nails before sleeping at night, and then the affected hand or foot should be covered with glove or socks for retaining the warmth given out by Vicks VapoRub.

 

5. Application of lemon juice over the whole affected finger 

Lemon is known to be very rich in citric acid; hence its juice has been known to be really useful in stopping the fungal growth in the infected nails. Some drops of lemon juice have to be directly applied over the whole fingers or toes holding the affected nails and kept there for at least 15 – 20 minutes, before washing off with clear water.
